Information about 'Dhankute Khurmi ( Lady hawk)'
The shape of this knife is totally different from actual khukuri (kukri). This sickle shaped knife is used by women in the village for cutting grasses or in the rice field during harvesting time. It is also use by the women for slashing meat while stepping this knife' handle with her toes.This knife is made in dhankuta village in eastern Nepal using buffalo horn and Indian rose wood for scabbard which is embellished with national symbols of Nepal.
